In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Asian Pacific Americans at Caltech employee resource group (APACT) hosts Melissa Magsaysay.

This event is open to all members of the Caltech and JPL community and to invited guests of the speaker.

Melissa Magsaysay is a journalist, best-selling author and host of the Live + Well podcast from LA Times Studios. She has been a reporter and editor at the Los Angeles Times and Women's Wear Daily and continues to contribute to The Los Angeles Times, Business of Fashion, CNN and a variety of publications. As a trusted voice in fashion and beauty, Melissa advises luxury and contemporary lifestyle brands, providing editorial direction and creative content.In 2023, she co-founded the brand Duster, a line of day dresses inspired by a Filipino housedress which aims to make women feel valued and visible in all of the ways that they work. Melissa's writing has been featured in Elle, Glamour, Harper's Bazaar, The Hollywood Reporter, The Wall Street Journal and The Chicago Tribune. She has appeared on The Today Show, Access Hollywood and BBC as a style and culture commentator.Melissa is a founding member of I am a Voter and the co-chair of the Vital Voices Los Angeles CouncilHer best-selling book "City of Style: Exploring Los Angeles Fashion from Bohemian to Rock" was published by HarperCollins.
